H.E. Nursulran Nazarbaev
Nursultan Nazarbaev was born on July 6, 1940, in the village of Chemolgan in the Almaty region. From 1960 to 1969, he worked at Karaganda metallurgical industrial complex, graduating, in 1967, from the complex\'s technical institute of higher education. From 1969 to 1973, he worked in the youth organization and later in the Community Party in Temirtau, in the Karaganda region. From 1973 to 1977, he worked as a Communist Party Committee Secretary at Karaganda metallurgical complex. From 1977 to 1979, he worked as a Secretary and then a Second Secretary of the Karaganda regional Communist Party Committee. From 1979 to 1984, he worked as a Secrutary in the Cental Committee of the Comunist Party of Kazakhstan. In 1984, he was appointed Chairman of the Council of Minusters of Kazakhstan. From 1989 to 1991, he worked as a First Secretary of the Cetral Committee of the Comunist Party of Kazakhstan. At the same time, from Fabruary to April 1900, he was a Chairman of the Kazakhstan Supreme Council.
In April 1990, he was elected Presedent of Kazakhstan. On April 29, 1995, ata nation-wide referendum, the President\'s power was extended to 2000. On Janaury 10, 1999, H.E. President Nazarbaev was re-elected Presedent of Kazakhstan supported by 79.8% of votes. On December 4, 2005, when he was again e-elected as President, he support had increased to 91% of the vote.
H.E. Presedent Nazarbaev has a doctoral degree of Economics and is an Academicial of the kazakhstan national science Academy, the International Engineering Academy and Academy of Social Sciences of the Russia Federation. He is a Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, Supreme Commander-in-Cheif of Military Forces of Kazakhstan and Chairman of the World Asseciation of Kazakhs.
